Once the documents are ready, applicants will be informed about the status of their application via a text (paid service). At the centre, you may also need to submit your fingerprints and photograph for some applications. This is known as biometric information collection.
Schedule an appointment for biometric enrolment and Passport Submission Important: Please be informed that in order to cater to the demand for biometric appointments, additional slots are opened from time to time during the day. These appointments are available online without any charge and can be availed by both individual applicants and authorised representatives. Booking an appointment with VFS Global to enroll Biometrics is a free service. Beware of persons who may demand payment for it. Please book your appointment using the same name and Date of Birth on your passport or travel document. The VACs will turn away clients if the name and Date of Birth on your appointment letter does not match your passport or travel document. Effective 02 November 2018, prior appointment is mandatory for biometric enrolment at the Canada Visa Application Centre in India. To find out if you need to give biometrics, you'll have to visit http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/biometrics.asp. Effective Monday, 01st August 2022 applicants can submit their passports (with prior appointment) and collect their decision envelopes (walk-in) from Monday-Friday between 9:00 to 17:00 Hrs at all Visa Application centres in India. Please note that the passport submission will require a prior appointment VFS : WebForm (mioot.com). customers of the Canada Visa Application Centres (CVAC) in India will only be able to schedule biometric appointments by completing the appointment booking webform: Note:- Only applicants and accompanying family members can visit the visa application centres to submit passports and collect decision envelopes. Personal Information: For the sole purpose of scheduling appointment VFS Global will collect Personal Information from the applicant. Do not include any personal information other than what is required by the appointment scheduling system in emails, webchat, SMS or other non-secure electronic communications. A consent form in this regard will be required from the applicant. Emergency Biometric Appointments: The criteria for an emergency biometric appointment is as follows: - Death of an immediate family member residing in Canada - Critically ill immediate family member residing in Canada An immediate family member is defined as a spouse or common-law partner dependent child dependent child of a dependent child parent or step-parent guardian or tutor Applicants requesting emergency appointments for the purpose of biometric collection must provide proof of emergency (any one of the following) at the time of attending an appointment at the VAC - Death/Medical Certificate - Letter from Medical Officer/Unit - Letter from Funeral Home Please note the VAC will report all applicants to IRCC who do not present the required proof of emergency at the time of attending an emergency appointment at the VAC. IRCC may take this into consideration when reviewing the application. An emergency biometric appointment does not affect IRCC’s processing times for the application or the outcome. Please note that emergency biometric appointments cannot be scheduled using the online appointment system.
